Driving for AC Moving will provide you the opportunity to be a leader for our moving crews; to interact with new customers daily and grow within our company. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record and be able to comply with all mandated DOT rules and regulations. If you are looking for dynamic opportunities and a chance to grow with a leading van line agency, this is the job for you!  ** Opportunities available for Class A, B, and C Drivers**

Responsibilities

  • Perform DOT pre-trip safety inspections for all tractor, trailer, and truck equipment
  • Perform accurate inventory of the shipments
  • Maintain required documentation and paperwork for shipments
  • Demonstrable ability to operate equipment as applicable to your CDL qualification
  • Ensure the interior and exterior of truck and cargo bodies are clean and in SAFE good working order
  • Ensure that all equipment, cargo restraints, walk-boards, blankets, etc. are accounted for and in good working order
  • Maintain required documentation and paperwork for shipments
  • Maintain driver logs, DVIR’s and all applicable DOT regulated paperwork
  • Transport goods using qualified company vehicles
  • Lead crews in properly loading shipments on and off the cargo body
  • Inspect shipments prior to loading for proper packing or wrapping
  • Assist in loading trucks and/or containers for forward movement via interstate commerce
  • Willing to travel (local, intrastate and/or interstate)
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Working Conditions: Indoors and outdoors * Lifting of objects of 50 pounds and more * Frequent squatting and bending * Frequent use of stairs * Driving for long periods of time

Education Requirements

  • Required: High school diploma or GED
  • General HHG and moving knowledge, skills, and abilities a plus
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Reliable and trustworthy

Qualifications

  • Preferred: CDL Class A, CDL Class B
  • Required: Good driving record (will be verified)
  • Required: Ability to meet background standards
  • Require and maintain D.O.T. physical & pass a drug test
